“If the Vice President knows how Anas is, he will not make that statement again and that is precisely what I want Ghanaians to know,” Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has said in reaction to the Vice President ‘praises’ for ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
According to Mr Agyapong, Anas’ deeds have cost some people their jobs while others have committed suicide, therefore, he doesn’t deserve all the praise he’s receiving from Ghanaians.
According to the legislator, Ghanaians need to know who the real Anas is.
“I am telling you Anas is corrupt and he is not a hero. He should tell us how many of the customs officials and judges were exempted from his (Anas) investigations after taking money from them,” Kennedy Agyapong told Kofi Adomah on Adom FM.
The vociferous MP explained that the journalist (Anas Aremeyaw Anas) was dating wife of the late MP for Abuakwa North, Ivy Boakye Danquah before the demise of Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu.
When asked if the lady wasn’t a schoolmate of Anas, Mr Agyapong stated that journalists are known for defending themselves.
“I am saying Anas was going out with Ivy…as I am talking to you now, she (Ivy) is staying in one of Anas’ residence,” Kennedy Agyapong said with authority.
“I really respect Kweku Baako….he is sensible but not sensible than me…don’t tell me what Kweku Baako is saying because whatever he has said is a lie,” he stated.
“The way he (Kweku Baako) is going about things means he knows how the guy does his things,” an angry Kennedy Agyapong said banging the table at the studio of Adom FM.
He added that the CEO of Multimedia does not have a quarter of Anas’ properties.
The lawmaker launched scathing attacks on Anas since he announced to premiere his investigative expose he did with the BBC concerning corruption in Ghana’s football dubbed 'Number 12’.
He has vowed to prove how corrupt the investigative journalist is with a video of him taking bribe to kill stories and entrapping his victims to tarnish their image.
The video will be premiered on Wednesday, 6 June 2018.
