In a significant show of support for the upcoming 2024 general elections, Tolon Naa Major Rtd. Sulemana Abubakari, the chief of the Tolon traditional area, expressed his endorsement of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s leadership during a recent courtesy visit from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer.
The meeting, held in Toulon, underscored the ongoing commitment of the NPP to the region’s development needs.
Tolon Naa, a respected figure in the Northern Region, began by acknowledging the importance of such visits, which he believes align with the community’s aspirations for growth.
“These visits show that the leadership of the NPP, under Dr. Bawumia’s guidance, is listening to our concerns and prioritizing development in our region,” he said, signalling his confidence in the party’s initiatives.
In his remarks, the chief commended Dr. Bawumia for his tireless work in advancing Ghana’s economic and social agenda.
“I have followed Dr. Bawumia’s public addresses and policy initiatives, and I can confidently say that his dedication to this country’s progress is unmatched,” Tolon Naa said. “From economic advancement to good governance, his policies resonate with us, the people.”
Tolon Naa’s endorsement also touched on several concrete developments that have taken place in the region under the leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Bawumia.
He highlighted the efforts of Member of Parliament Alhaji Habib Iddrisu in facilitating many of these projects, which have significantly improved the quality of life in the area.
Among the projects mentioned were a state-of-the-art medical facility designed to provide high-quality healthcare to the community, an upgraded sports infrastructure that promises to enhance the youth’s physical development, and an improved transportation network to ease the movement of people and goods.
These initiatives, Tolon Naa believes, have made a tangible difference in the lives of the people in Tolon.
“We are seeing positive changes that were once dreams,” Tolon Naa remarked. “The people of Tolon are benefiting from improved healthcare, better roads, and opportunities for our youth to excel in sports and other fields. This is the kind of progress we need.”
As the meeting came to a close, Tolon Naa emphasized that Dr. Bawumia’s extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of governance made him the right candidate to lead Ghana into the next phase of development.
“Dr. Bawumia has proven himself. His vision for this country is clear, and I believe he is the most capable person to take us forward,” the chief concluded.
