Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has waded into the ongoing debate about Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ modus operandi in obtaining evidence of corruption against public officials.

Some lawyers believe his methodology should be subjected to a legal test to clear the air regarding how the undercover journalist operates.

It is widely believed that, his mode of operation amounts to invasion of privacy as he leads people on for them to fall for his inducements and later captures them on video.

Anas’ approach has come under heavy criticisms following his latest documentary, “Number 12”, which has so far implicated President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Commenting on the raging controversy, Dr Bawumia said, “what Anas is doing is very relevant; people should know that what they do in the dark can be exposed.”

According to the vice president, professionals such as Anas should be celebrated, and not persecuted.

But, Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has vowed to expose what he termed as the dubious deals of Anas.

He argues that Anas’ mode of operation amounts to entrapment, which should not be tolerated in a civilized and democratic nation such as Ghana.

Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has released a video which appears to show investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, negotiating for an unspecified amount of bribe from a purported state attorney.

The lawmaker provided the video which is intended to be the first release of a series of recordings he threatened to release after vowing to expose the undercover journalist who he believes blackmails unsuspecting people after capturing them on video.
