President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has left Accra for Nouakchott, Mauritania, to attend the 31st Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union.
Foreign Affairs Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, as well as officials from the Presidency and the Foreign Ministry, are accompanying Nana Akufo-Addo who left the Kotoka International Airport Saturday.
The meeting takes place on Sunday, July 1 and 2 and the President is expected to return on Monday immediately after the meeting.
It is on the theme “Winning the Fight against Corruption: A Sustainable path to Africa’s Transformation”.
Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, shall, in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution, act as the President of Ghana in Nana Akufo-Addo’s stead, a statement from the presidency said.
