Former Second Lady, Hajia Ramatu Mahama turns 67-years-old today October 15, 2018, MyNewsGh.com can confirm.
According to the family, Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as well as past and present government officials, will join well-wishers to celebrate the day with Hajia Ramatu who between 2001-2008 was the country’s Second Lady by virtue of the fact her husband Alhaji Aliu Mahama now late was the Vice President.
The motherly and gracious Hajia Ramatu is the daughter of the late Imoro Egala, a minister for Trade and Industry and first black chairman of Cocobod, in the first republic and a long-standing political stalwart in Ghana through to the third republic.
Hajia Ramatu was an educationist in Tamale and her love and care for her pupils earned her the coveted title “MMA Ramatu”. During the tenure of the late vice president, his house was the home of many young people due to her commitment to the development, wellbeing and welfare of the teeming young people in the community.
Together with the late vice president, she had four children, namely; Salma, Farouk, Fayad and Halim, all of whom are flourishing in their various fields of endeavor.
