Bawumia sets Winneba, Apam alive as thousands chant 'no second-hand President' against Mahama

Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, recorded, arguably, his biggest crowd so far of his Central Regional tour on day four.

Dr. Bawumia's tour has so far registered milling crowds in Denkyira, Mfantseman, and Gomoa, but the welcome he received in Winneba, in the Effutu Constituency where Majority Leader Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin is MP, was unbelievable.

Winneba has always been a fortress for the NPP, and the popular Afenyo-Markin has consolidated the superiority of the NPP. However, the popular candidacy of Bawumia and his appearance in the constituency yesterday with Afenyo-Markin sent the community into a frenzy as thousands turned up to welcome him into Winneba and then massed up for an electrifying community connect, which both Dr. Bawumia and Afenyo-Markin addressed.

Bawumia's Possibility Bus really had a tough time driving through the Winneba township as it arrived, with scores of supporters completely surrounding it.

At the grounds where the community connect was held, various speakers, including the Majority Leader, kept the large crowd alive with messages exposing the failings of Mahama as President between 2012 and 2017.

It was such a narrative by Afenyo-Markin, which got the mammoth crowd loudly chanting "no second-hand President" in response to Afenyo-Markin's question of whether they prefer a brand new President in Dr. Bawumia or a second-hand President, John Mahama.

From Winneba, Dr. Bawumia and his team headed to Apam, in the Gomoa West Constituency, where a similar mammoth crowd gave him a rousing reception, upon entering the town and at the community engagement.

At both Winneba and Apam, Dr. Bawumia was charged and delivered an energetic address, which focused on a number of the policies he has been explaining to Ghanaians, which he hopes to implement as President.
