Bayport Financial Service Tuesday presented educational materials and variety of non-alcoholic beverages to children at the African Faith Primary and Junior High School at Yawhima in the Sunyani Municipality, to mark the “My First Day at School” programme.
According to the financial institution, the learning materials comprising pencils, erasers and exercise books were to motivate the children and sustain their interest in school.
The “My First Day at School” programme is observed on the re-opening day of every academic year, where pupils admitted to kindergarten one are motivated and encouraged to sustain their interest in school.
Mr Robert Osei Darko, the Sunyani Branch Manager of Bayport Financial Services, explained that his organization cherished the established long standing relationship between it and teachers.
He said since education was the substratum to national development, Bayport would continue to play effective role in supporting teachers by offering them the necessary financial assistance to either further their education or own their houses.
Mr Darko advised the children to always read their books and revise their lesson notes during their leisure hours.
Mr Sampson Okofo Darteh, the Headmaster of the school, thanked management of Bayport for the support and appealed to it to assist the school with desks, ICT centre and potable water.
