President and Chairman of Groupe Nduom (GN), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has called on Ghanaian youth to demand accountability from elected officials of the country.
According to him, it was long overdue for the youth who are said to be future leaders not to have questioned the way government machinery was being ran, to ensure that effective decisions are taken for the development of the country.
Dr. Nduom made the call on Tuesday, August 23, 2017 when he addressed over 300 students from Zenith University Collage, University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) and Kings University College at the Zenith Campus in Accra.
The lecture formed part of Dr. Nduom’s entrepreneurship mentoring coaching christened: “Power Talk Series,” which he started about a year ago to educate and encourage tertiary students across the country to become entrepreneurs.
He tasked the youth to be risk-takers. “Be bold to take sensible risk because failure happens but it should not be made a habit,” he urged the youth.
“For you to be successful, you must give all your best when you are engaged by someone. If you are lazy with someone’s job, you will be lazy when you start your own,” he added.
The business mogul also implored the students to have an entrepreneurial mind-set.
“Having an entrepreneurial mind-set means you should be able to identify problems in its early stages, find a solution to the problem and have a master plan to implement the strategies to solve the problem,” he said.
According to him, Ghana’s economy is not doing well “because people claim to have all the solutions to our problems but cannot implement them. What didn’t we hear during the 2016 general election and what are the results now?” Dr. Nduom asked.
However, Dr. Nduom was optimistic that Ghana will become stronger economically “If we begin to elect people who have entrepreneurial mind-sets.”
