National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku has asked wives of the late member of parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Hon. Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko to remain calm over who succeeds their late husband ahead of the constituency's bye-election.
According to him, this is not time for agitations.
Mr. Agyarko died on November 21, 2018, from a prolonged illness, and he’s yet to be buried.
While a date is yet to be fixed for a bye-election, posters of both widows have emerged with passionate supporters calling on the two wives of the late NPP MP to go for their late husband’s seat as MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon.
Earlier this week, social media was flooded with posters of both widows of the late MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon, reportedly tussling over who succeeds the late MP as the party's preferred candidate for the area.
Speaking on Okay FM Ade Akye Abia program, Mr. Awuku asked the wives to calm down because this is not the time to grumble over positions.
He indicated that Party is about numbers and that they will look for anyone who will enable them win election but not the other way round.
"So far leadership of the party has not decided on any candidate yet but will rally behind anybody who the party will consensually agree to represent the constituency."
He therefore appealed to them to remain calm until the late MP is given a befitting burial then they can all rally behind one candidate for the upcoming by-election.
