Kumasi, Sept 20, GNA- The Reverend Dr Kofi Effah-Ababio, chaplain of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Presbyterian Church, on Friday called on all well meaning Presbyterians to be worried about the gradual demise of the true tenets of the church. He has, therefore, advised elders of the Church not to compromise on discipline, and ensure that the tenets of the church are enforced to the letter.

"We as shepherds of the flock should not lose focus of what the church stands for".

The Rev Effah-Ababio was speaking on the topic: "Reviving The Presbyterian Discipline In Contemporary Time" at the annual Asante Presbytery Presbyters Conference in Kumasi.

The four-day conference has the theme, "Behold I Make All Things New". It is being attended by presbyters from all the 31 presbyteries and 24 sub-districts in Ashanti.

Rev Effah-Ababio attributed the increasing spate of indiscipline in the country to military takeovers over the years. He called for support and participation in the crusade against indiscipline and charged the media, especially television stations to censor all indecent films and the newspapers not to publish indecent pictures.

Mr D.A. Osei, President of the Asante Presbytery, asked his colleagues not to lord it over their congregation but be servants at all times.
