A philanthropist and former Parliamentary aspirant for Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Obuobia Darko-Opoku, has charged the youth to be faithful and loyal to mother Ghana in order to make her greater and stronger.

“Let us pledge to hold in high esteem the heritage won for us through the blood and toil of our fathers at independence. Let us pledge ourselves in all things to uphold and defend the good name of our dear country and Africa at large,” she advised.

According to her, the Ghanaian youth need to raise their heads up high, invest and build integrity, as well as have a mindset of incorruptible smiles without the lens of Anas on them before they do the right.

Speaking at the launch of a non-denominational youth camp dubbed Youtherfest 2018, Obuobia who is also the co-host of Breakfast Live on TV Africa, noted that it is time for the youth of Ghana to build a brand, a brand that gives room for free economic progress.

“I salute every youth who is part of this generation and say, you are the one to transform the world. Ghana needs you to think to give her a new smile. Let us stand for the best and rise as champions in the whole Africa,” she said.

“Let us build a generation of wellness that will say and will indeed see a stop to political and social bridge of corruption, impunity, madness against rule of law, but a look to decency, unity, respect for one another and an uprising to embrace the culture of new Ghanaian brand,” she added.

Obuobia, however, was excited about Youtherfest and how the ‘new’ youth is expressing the ‘can do’ spirit in raising the country up and added, “We have every reason to smile because the dawn of a great harvest has come. The harvest of making things happen and fixing problems.”

Youtherfest is a non-denominational youth camp which aims at raising leaders, shaping visions and impacting society with the vision of the younger generation in order to become generational builders to secure the future of Ghana and Africa at large.

The youth camp over the years has brought together young and ambitious Ghanaians gathered under a single forum for the key purpose of soul winning, career development, the shaping of vision and also to strategise and formulate decisions to better their lives and their communities as well and in effect, contribute their quota to national development.

This year’s edition is strategically prayed and thought through to rally a new mindset in the Ghanaian and the African to become managers of their own responsibilities to dominate in their areas of expertise.

Youtherfest 2018 comes off Wednesday, August 8 to Sunday, August 12, 2018, at the Ho Technical University in the Volta Region. The theme for this year is 'We are a Generation of Wealth Built to Save for Legacies - Genesis1:28-30.'

The speakers include Nathan Kwabena Adisi (Bola Ray), Bernard Taylor, Apostle BB Frederick, Nana Kyei-Amponsah, Obuobia Darko-Opoku, Solomon Ababio-Adjeman and Ernest Koranteng.
