The head pastor of the Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC) in Kumasi, Pastor Ransford Obeng has urged state institutions not to compromised in bringing Captain Maxwell Mahama’s murderers to book.

Addressing a section of the media in the Ashanti region, the renowned pastor described the unthinkable lynching of the army commander as barbaric and alien to our culture: “Ghanaians we are not like that; this is foreign and we should not entertain that” he said.

Pastor Obeng also applauded leaders across the political divide for their condemnation of the heinous crime “For the first time both political parties, all of them in parliament stood to condemn that act” he noted.

The disturbed pastor described the action by the murderers as people who lack understanding and are bereft of the consequences of their actions “I think this is a misunderstanding of the God we serve, because the God we serve never ask we should take other people’s lives.”

He wants the laws of the country to deal rigorously with the murderers: “The people who did it,I appeal to the lawyers and judges, let them bring them to book irrespective of their political affiliation” he stated.

He pleaded with the Ghana Armed Forces to forgive the Denkyira Obuasi community and find a place in their hearts to forgive them. “Vengeance is for the Lord, and I appeal to the military to forgive the community" he said.

The Pastor as part of his 61st birthday celebration held a blood donation exercise at the forecourt of the Calvary Charismatic Center at Ayigya in the Kumasi metropolis.

Hundreds took part to donate pints of blood for the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Blood Bank. To Pastor Ransford Obeng, every Christian should be a blessing to others and donating blood is one of the greatest and divine services.
