Agona Swedru (C/R), Oct. 27, GNA - Mr Samuel Kweku Obodai, Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West, has called on the electorate to be mindful of politicians, who make vain promises to get their votes. He said some political party leaders and their supporters would promise the electorate that they could bring "heaven to the earth" and put the country's economy on track without telling them how they could accomplish it.

Speaking at rallies in communities around Agona Swedru, Mr Obodai said it was sad that some politicians were still enticing the electorate with money and promises to get their votes.

He said candidates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the December 2004 elections would not give promises that they could not fulfil and urged the people to reject candidates, who did not have the vision to serve them.

The MP asked the electorate to return President john Agyekum Kufuor and NPP Parliamentary Candidates to power to continue with their efforts to make Ghana a better place to live in.

He called on supporters of the NPP to bury their differences and to unite to ensure resounding victory for President Kufuor and the NPP in the elections.

Mr Obodai urged them to intensify their house-to-house campaign to win more support for the NPP to defeat the NDC again. 27 Oct. 04
