The Minority Caucus in Parliament has reminded the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government to tread cautiously, emphasising that power is transient.

Their comment follows a recent incident involving individuals purported to be from National Security who allegedly invaded the home of former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

At a press conference led by Patricia Appiagyei, the Member of Parliament for Asokwa, she described the government's actions as dangerous and cautioned them to tread carefully.

According to the Caucus, history will not be kind to those who turn state institutions into instruments of oppression.

They also emphasised that they will not allow tyranny to replace democracy and vowed to continue fighting for justice and fairness in the country.

“The government must be reminded that power is transient, and history will not judge kindly those who turn state institutions into instruments of oppression. The path this government is taking is a dangerous one. We will not allow tyranny to replace democracy, and we will continue to champion justice, fairness, and democratic governance,” she told the media.

The Caucus, therefore, condemned these actions and demanded that the government take full responsibility by ensuring that those involved are arrested and prosecuted without delay.

“We, in the Minority, demand that if the government claims no knowledge of such actions, then it must ensure that all those responsible are arrested and prosecuted immediately. God bless our homeland, Ghana,” the Minority Caucus said.
