Kwame Blay, the son of Freddie Blay, the former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a legal threat against Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, following allegations of unlawful land acquisition levelled by the MP.

The allegations by Ablakwa relate to the Blay family's 'illegal' attempt allegedly to acquire prime land from the state-owned Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.

This has sparked a heated exchange, with Freddie Blay demanding an apology from Ablakwa, journalist Johnnie Hughes, and the management of Media General, while warning of possible legal action.

During an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Eyewitness News on Citi FM, Kwame Blay expressed surprise at Ablakwa's accusations and emphasized the detrimental effect they have had on his family's reputation.

“…It is so preposterous as a learned gentleman like Ablakwa himself will come and spew such utter rubbish. It is unfair that you drag our good name.," he remarked.

“By the middle of next week, he will hear from our lawyers very strongly and in different [batches]. Mind you sir he has mentioned three individuals so he should be very careful," Kwame Blay warned.

Meanwhile, Ablakwa has remained defiant amidst the controversy, urging Freddie Blay to proceed with legal action and suggesting he may reveal more information about the alleged state capture.
