Deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam Hadzide has condemned the unparliamentary confrontation between Minority Chief Whip of Ghana's Parliament, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak and Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong days ago.

There was drama in Parliament on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 when the two lawmakers clashed in the House, trading insults with each other.

But for the timely intervention of their colleagues in the Legislative House, the two would have ended up in fisticuffs.

Addressing the issue on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', the Deputy Enam Hadzide asked the lawmakers to conduct themselves in an honourable manner and uphold the democratic structures of the House.

He noted that Parliament is an "embodiment of democracy" and so using unprintable words on the floor shouldn't be encouraged.

“I see a disturbing trend which is developing especially in our August House of Parliament. That is the embodiment of our democracy. The two MPs using unprintable words against each other; it isn’t something that Ghana and culture should encourage it," he told host Kwami Sefa Kayi.

To him, the two Members of Parliament command respect and should use that to set good examples for Ghanaians.
