A Tamale High Court presided over Justice Charles Gyamfi Danquah has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of a veteran journalist and communications consultant, Alhaji Sulemana Sibidow.

Alhaji Sibidow who was hauled before the court over the alleged fraudulent sale of a landed property had failed to appear before court despite several subpoenas.

All efforts to trace his whereabouts had proved futile, prompting the court to accordingly issue a bench warrant for his arrest in order for him to provide documents on his landed property before being granted bail.

According to the facts of the case, Alhaji Sibidow was reported to have sought the assistance of the first defendant in the case to sell the said property located behind Japan Motors within Tamale to one Ayaric Theodore Kaboa on an agreed fee.

A prominent lawyer within the Tamale Metropolis later claimed ownership of the said land when efforts were underway to develop the property by Mr Kaboa, the new owner.

All efforts to trace the veteran journalist to authenticate if indeed the land in dispute was his proved futile as he was reported to have absconded and his whereabouts unknown till date.

A civil suit was, therefore, filed at a Tamale High Court by Ayaric Theodore Kaboa but the second defendant who is Alhaji Sibidow failed to make an appearance though it was confirmed he had been duly served.
