Several women who received skill training under the auspices of the Aliu Mahama Foundation will on Saturday, September 29, 2018 receive start-up capital to commence their respective businesses.

The training which took place months ago was aimed at equipping the beneficiaries with the requisite knowledge before they are given the needed logistics and resources to engage in their chosen income generating activities.

According to organizers of the event, the women after successfully undergoing the training, are expected to receive the needed support on the stated date at the forecourt of the Zongo Naa’s palace at 2pm.

Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama explained that the training and subsequent intended presentation of start-up capital to the women is in line with the objectives and vision of the late former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama who is the originator of the foundation of which he the son is religiously and vigorously pursuing.

The Aliu Mahama Foundation was set up by the late Alhaji Aliu Mahama; a former Vice President of Ghana after his term of office to help the needy and less privilege in society.

Known as a consummate democrat and a disciplinarian, he is fondly remembered for his campaign for greater discipline in the country which caught up well with a section of the citizenry.

Described by many as very humble, generous and a philanthropist, he made conscious efforts in giving back to society through health, education, business, education, Sports and general care for humanity.

The Foundation over the years has secured and made several donations of medical equipment to health facilities in Northern Ghana especially.

In academia, the Aliu Mahama Memorial lectures has seen distinguished personalities like former President Kufuor and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia speak on various subjects to patrons.
