The studios of Tema-based Adom FM were last Tuesday turned into a boxing arena when NDC member of Parliament for Gomoa West, Hon Ama Benyiwa-Doe slapped bespectacled Daily Guide anchorman Baby Ansabah who responded with an another slap.
In the melee that ensued, co-panelist Ken Kuranchie of the Searchlight had to intervene as a livid Baby Ansabah got set to use a swivel chair to repel further attacks from Hon. Ama-Benyiwa Doe.
Eye witnesses said Hon. Benyiwa Doe was so charged that anything could have happened in the studio but for the able manner the situation was brought under control by Adakabre Frimpong-Manso, the host of that radio station?s Morning Show. It all happened when Hon. Benyiwa-Doe a regular panelist on that station?s morning show decided to extend condolences on her own behalf and that of the NDC to the families of 14 persons who died in a motor accident on the Mankessim-Apam Junction road at Gomoa Dabanyin.
Baby Ansabah drew Hon. Benyiwa Doe?s attention to the fact that she should not politicize the death of the 14 but the MP will not have any of that. Not wanting to take such interventions lightly, Hon. Benyiwa Doe took Baby Ansabah unawares with a slap which elicited a reflex action by way of a slap, momentarily throwing the studio into a state of confusion.
As the confusion raged, eye-witnesses said, Hon. Benyiwa Doe sought to give Baby Ansabah another slap, but the latter managed to lift a swivel chair as a shield whilst Ken Kuranchie who was also in the studio restrained Baby Ansabah. The host of the show, Frimpong Manso had no option than to use his dexterity to put off the studio microphones.
