I make reference to your front page publication of Monday, December 6, 2010 with the above caption.
I wish to state that page three (3) of the publication indicates quite clearly that the Attorney-General has been sued as a nominal defendant and NOT BETTY MOULD-IDDRISU IN HER PERSONAL CAPACITY.
I take exception to the fact that my personal name should be used. This gives the impression that I have been dragged to court in my personal capacity.
You have to note that I have been receiving numerous phone calls from the general public concerning that news headline. I am at a loss as to why the necessity of putting a personal twist on this.
This is mischievous.
I have noted that this is not the first time that your paper has attempted to drag my person into disrepute in the media . And while I acknowledge that as a public figure I must be open to public scrutiny, this publication smacks of unethical journalism and I request that you retract the said publication and refrain from such acts henceforth.
I am serving a copy of this letter on the National Media Commission and hope they take steps to point out that this is irresponsible journalism.
Betty Mould-Iddrisu
Attorney-General and
Minister for Justice
