The ruling NPP has accused the opposition NDC of waging a campaign “to destroy the country's gains." The NPP in a statement titled "Beware of NDC's Falsehood" said it was "a malicious lie" that the NPP was undermining the Electoral Commission in order to have it easy at the next general elections.

The statement signed by NPP’s Press Secretary, Kwadwo Afari, said the NDC’s moves are aimed at destroying “not only the NPP, but the country's economic and social gains made since the NDC lost the elections, so that they can regain power."

It described as false, a statement by Alhaji Muhammad Mumuni, NDC MP for Kumbungu and his party members that the rights of Ghanaians were being abused under the ruling NPP.

"Hon. Alhaji Mumuni and his party have not learnt any serious lessons from their electoral loss in the year 2000", the statement said.

The NPP advised the NDC to stop the unpatriotic utterances and actions against NPP to ensure peaceful co-existence.

"Ghanaians still do remember their record of 20 years and their cross-border campaign of vilification will definitely fail because their foreign targets do not only know better, but are also better informed about the good work of the Kufuor administration."
