The biometric voter’s registration in the Jomoro Constituency commenced with problems due to malfunctioning of equipment for the exercise.

The printer at Asisuazo (Jewi Wharf) registration centre at the Jewi Electoral Area in the constituency was faulty and this delayed the start of the registration.

Mr Ignatius Cudjoe, registration officer at the center told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that, the printer could not spark, and as at 0945 hours when the GNA left the centre, nobody had been registered even though prospective voters were ready to register.

At the Half Assini Methodist Junior High School, the exercise started at 0745 hours because of the failure of a laptop computer to function.

Mr Philip Akpalu, a registration office at the Akakasuaso centre in Anlomatuape electoral area said that, as at 1020 hours only seven people were registered.

According to him some people who presented National Health Insurance cards to testify their eligibility were not allowed to register upon instruction given them by the District Electoral Officer.

Early morning rains at Half Assini and its environs caused the exercise to start at about 07500.**
