Bishop Korankye-Ankrah celebrates 50th birthday with prisoners

Nsawam, Feb. 26, GNA - Royal House Chapel International on Thursday donated detergents, food and drinks to the Nsawam Medium Security Prisons. This formed part of the 50th birthday celebration of the General Overseer of the church, Bishop Samuel Korankye- Ankrah.

Bishop Korankye-Ankrah personally presented the items to the Prison authorities for the inmates and also promised to refurbish the office of the Commanding Officer in charge of the Prisons. He said the members of Prophetic Choir of the Prison would be given good quality shirts from the UK as a uniform and the choir of the United Church choir would also be given a new set of uniforms.

The inmates were led through a series of song ministrations and dancing to the glorification of God while a sermon was delivered by Bishop Korankye-Ankrah.

There was a testimony from an ex-inmate who was sentenced to death but through the word of God, he has now been freed and was going through training to become a pastor.

Bishop Korankye-Ankrah entreated inmates to dedicate their lives to Christ and not to see themselves as outcasts of the society. He expressed the hope that they would be seen as men of God rather criminals after leaving prison.

Bishop Korankye-Ankrah told the inmates that no matter how condemned they might be feeling or the amount of rejection they encountered from friends and families there would be a time when they would be the most sought after in their communities.

He assured them that the love of God endured forever and encouraged them to keep praying and look forward to a miracle. Bishop Korankye-Ankrah noted that the Prison was a good place for reformation and reintegration of inmates into the society, adding that his church and the Medium Security Prisons would be great partners with regard to the provision of some of the basic needs of the inmates. He promised to spend other birthdays with inmates.
