Blacks left out of Britain's recovery, says TUC

Britain's economic recovery is failing to benefit black people, according to a study of racial differences in the labour market, reports the Times. The analysis, carried out by the Trades Union Congress, finds that black workers are disadvantaged over both jobs and pay.

The study which was examined at a recent TUC black workers' conference in Scarborough found that black workers have had little change both in employment and unemployment over the past two years.

Using govt figures from its Labour Force Survey, the TUC says: "With the recovery in the economy two years and more old, black workers have still to significantly benefit from the fall in unemployment".
