The Bole Traditional Council under the leadership of Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I) has associated itself to the uproar by the Youth of Bole and many individuals on plans by health authorities in the Savannah Region to transfer Coronavirus patients from other parts of the Savannah Region to the Bole District Hospital.

The Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional area said the move should be discarded until adequate measures are put in place to contain any spread of the Coronavirus in the town which has not yet recorded any case.

At a meeting between the Traditional Council and the Bole District Health Directorate at the Bolewura’s Palace on Friday, 19th June 2020, the Paramount Chief and his Council of elders vehemently kicked against the move to bring any Coronavirus victim to Bole. The Chiefs said any decision on the issue should be reversed by the Ghana Health Service authorities of the Region until proper measures are put in place to avoid any calamity in the town.

Bolewura and his Council said information available to them indicate the Coronavirus isolation Centre at the Bole District Hospital is not well equipped like other hospitals and so the victims should rather be moved to Regional Capital Damongo where the hospital is well equipped.

The Bolewura said their decision will not only protect health workers at the Bole hospital but also prevent the spread of the virus in the community.
