Bolga Veterans Get Office Complex

The Veterans Association of Ghana has spent ?357 million to build an office complex at Bolgatanga. Commissioning it, the Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu, said it is the policy of the government to enhance the welfare of veterans. To this end, his Ministry is considering the recommendations of a Committee set up by the government to streamline the operations of the veterans Association. This will help the government to fashion a new law to improve upon the lot of veterans Alhaji Iddrisu hoped the office complex would be used to promote the welfare of the Veterans. He also charged the veterans Association to explore other sources of income generating activities to supplement government subvention to the association. The Chairman of the VAG National Council, Lt. Gen L.A. Okai (retired) urged leaders of the Association in the region to make good use of the Complex. The Upper East Regional Minister, Mr.. Donald Adabre, commended the Association for its initiative and asked the people to patronise it.
