The enskinned Ya Naa of Dagbon
The Bolinlana Mahamudu Abdulai has extended a congratulatory message to Yo Naa Alhaji Abukari Mahama as the new Overload of the Dagbon Kingdom.
A high powered delegation led by the Tolon Naa, Major Sulemana Rtd and the Diyali Naa on behalf of the Bolinlana extended the congratulatory message to the new Overload.
The Yo Naa who is the Chief of Savelugu was selected as the new King by the Kingmakers today (Friday), 18th January, 2018 in Yendi the capital of Dagbon after the climax of the funerals of two Overload of Dagbon, Yaa Naa Mahamudu Abdulai IV and Yaa Naa Yakubu Andani II at the Gbewa Palace in Yendi.
He takes over from the Kapakuyaa Yakubu Andani who has been the Gbanlana (Regent) after his father and late overload of Dagbon, Yaa Naa Yakubu Abdulai Andani II was murdered in 2002.
The Bolinlana in a press statement assured his unflinching support and loyalty for the Yaa Naa as he leads the Dagbon Kingdom.
“In accordance with the best traditions of Dagbon, I have already sent a high powered delegation from the Abudu Royal family led by the Regent of Tolon, Major Sulemana Abukari, Regent of Diare and Mba Dugu Iddrisu Iddi to formally congratulate the new Ya Naa.”
The statement also added that… “It is our prayer that the Almighty Allah will grant him the wisdom to lead and unite Dagbon as we enter into a new dawn of reconciliation, friendship, brotherliness and unity.“

BOLIN-LANA CONGRATULATES YOO NAA ABUKARI MAHAMA AS YA-NAA
On my own behalf and on behalf of the Royal Abudu Family of Dagbon, I wish to congratulate my grandfather, Naa Alhaji Abukari Mahama following his selection by the kingmakers of Dagbon as the new Ya Naa.
I wish to indicate my unflinching support and loyalty to the new Ya-Naa and to assure him that, so long as he leads us, when he looks back, he will see me.
