The Bolin Lana, Mahamadu Abdulai, was on Sunday, 3 March 2019, enskinned as the paramount chief of the Mion Traditional Area in the Northern Region.
The coronation ceremony was held in Yendi amidst cultural performances in accordance with the customs and traditions of Dagbon.
The Mion skin is one of the three paramount gates enshrined in the Dagbon tradition for only the sons of Ya Nas and leads to the Yani Nam (Overlord).
As contained in the Dagbon peace pact outlined by the Otumfuo-chaired Committee of Eminent Chiefs last year, the coronation of Yo Na Abdulai Yakubu and Mion Lana Mahamadu Abdulai forms part of the processes to strengthen the unity and cohesion in the area between the Abudu and Andani royal families.
Hundreds of people and sympathizers of Dagbon witnessed the investiture on Sunday.
The then-Bolin Lana Mahamadu Abdulai is the first surviving son of late Ya Na Mahamadu Abdulai IV.
He became the Bolin Lana at the age of 14, a day after Ya Na Mahamadu Abdulai IV was laid to rest at the KatiniDuu.
