The Bosome Freho District Assembly has begun a comprehensive road reshaping exercise across the district to improve accessibility and boost local development.

The District Chief Executive (DCE), Charles Appiah-Kubi, said the initiative was part of efforts to complement the government’s infrastructure development agenda and enhance connectivity, particularly linking communities to markets, schools, and healthcare facilities.

He urged residents and road users to exercise caution during the ongoing works to ensure safety. While reaffirming the Assembly’s commitment to improving infrastructure, Appiah-Kubi acknowledged its limited financial and logistical capacity, noting that additional support from the central government was critical to addressing the district’s long-standing road challenges.

He explained that the Assembly’s current resources were insufficient to meet the growing infrastructure needs of the district without external assistance.

Beyond road improvement, the Assembly has undertaken other development projects, including the construction of teachers’ accommodation, an office for the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), and a new Department of Agriculture office to enhance service delivery and strengthen institutional capacity.

Appiah-Kubi reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to promoting economic growth and improving livelihoods, stressing that actions capable of undermining government development efforts would not be tolerated.

He said priority would continue to be given to projects with direct social and economic impact.

The Assembly commended the District Works Department for its dedication in reshaping deteriorated roads using the DRIP equipment, describing the intervention as a critical step towards easing transportation challenges and enhancing socio-economic activities.

The DCE called on residents to fully cooperate with the exercise and appealed to the central government for increased support to enable the Assembly to effectively respond to the district’s pressing infrastructure needs.
