Branded vehicles are for NDC not NCCE - Kofi Adams

National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has revealed on the Citi Breakfast Show that the NDC branded Mahindra vehicles being speculated to belong to the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) but rebranded to support the NDC's campaign ahead of the November elections is false.

When asked whether the arrest of the Managing Director of Marbles and Granites- Dr. Edmund Ayo Ani- was legal or not, he answered, "we shouldn’t limit the whole discussion to just taking a picture; the mere fact that some people are spreading false news on social media that the NDC has diverted vehicles meant for state institutions for their campaign is a major concern," because these allegations are false.

"The vehicles belong to NDC and as to whether the arrest of the Managing Director of the quarry company, Marbles and Granites for allegedly circulating pictures of the vehicles is legal or illegal will be determined by the court and not the radio station," he argued

In a separate chat with GhanaPoliticsOnline.Com, He added that, “state vehicles use to have GV registration numbers, it was the NPP who came to power to change that principle where they made state vehicles have same numbers with private vehicles, but when NDC came back to power, we reversed to giving state vehicles different number plates to differentiate between state cars and private vehicles, which no Government who wants to divert vehicles will take.”

On Saturday, the Managing Director of Marbles and Granites, a quarry company, was arrested for allegedly circulating pictures of the cars, which were parked in a yard belonging to the National Security Adviser.

The narrative on the pictures which went viral on social media claimed that the vehicles belonged to the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), but were being rebranded to support NDC's campaign ahead of the November elections.

Dr. Edmund Ayo Ani, who was arrested on the orders of the National Security Adviser, was subsequently released by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) on Sunday
