Breast Care International launches new office at Prestea government hospital

The Peace and Love hospital in Kumasi, together with Prestea government hospital sponsored by Golden star Prestea-Bogoso limited (GSPBL), have launched a breast cancer department at the government hospital in Prestea of the Western Region.

Speaking at the occasion, Breast Care International, headed by Mrs. Beatrice Wiafe said that breast is the beauty of ladies and it is the major source of food to feed young babies.

She continued by saying cancer is one disease which always give problems to women, because if the cancer starts from the breast at the beginning, it is easier to treat but if it develops, doctors need to cut the affected breast, which will deform the woman.

She therefore advised the nurses to go round the villages and communities to screen them, adding that women should learn how to examine their own breasts.

She said this at Prestea when Breast Care International was launching its office at the Prestea government hospital.
