Breezer International, bulk suppliers of the specially formulated petroleum products, ”Power Super and Diesel”, has made a donation to the families of a commercial bus driver and his mate who lost their lives in the recent cargo airplane crash just outside Accra’s Kotoka International Airport(KIA).
It will be recalled that the driver and his mate were among 10 fatalities when an Allied Air cargo plane crashed on Saturday June 2nd near the El-Walk Stadium in Accra, just outside the KIA, during a rainstorm.
Breezer International has responded by making a cash donation to the two families at a short but touching ceremony held at Burma Camp in Accra.
The donation was made in line with Breezer International’s commitment to support its customers and support other worthy causes within the communities that it operates.
Mr. Louise Josiah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Breezer International, said his company was making the gesture to show solidarity to the families of both the driver and mate, who had lost breadwinners in this unfortunate accident.
”While we know it can in no way bring back the victims, we hope it will serve to alleviate, to some extent, the immediate financial difficulties of their dependants,” he said.
He explained that Breezer International decided to intercede in these circumstances because the company was always ready and willing to support motorists, both commercial and private, which make up their customer base.
He expressed the hope that the bereaved families would take their respective losses with fortitude and with the acceptance that God has the final say in our lives and how our lives end.
Receiving the donations, a representative of the families, Mr Ken Esiamah expressed appreciation to Breezer International for its kindness and thoughtful gesture and said it would contribute significantly to alleviate the immediate difficulties of the dependants of the deceased.
He called on other private and public institutions and enterprises to emulate Breezer International’s considerate sense of community and be “their brothers’ keepers”.
“We can all live better if we give each other a helping hand when needed,” he added.**
