Breman Asikuma Senior High School (BASS) located in the Asikuma -Odoben- Brakwa District of the Central region has held its 54th Speech And Prize Giving Day to honour individuals and teachers who helped in projecting the name of the school and also launched the school’s 55th anniversary celebration with the theme "Dzin pa", our cherish legacy

Addressing the occasion, headmaster of the school, Mr James Bambel underscored how the construction of an ultra-modern E-Library for the school has given a boost to the school academically.

He applauded teachers in the school for the wonderful job done in preparing students for the National Math and Science Quiz and the 2018 West African Senior Secondary School examination WASSCE.

The school had an overall score of 99.23% with the overall best student recording five A1's and two B2's and C.

He called on the government to help complete for the school a six-unit classroom flat for teachers abandoned in 2004 which allows teachers to stay outside the school campus thereby diminishing the discipline level among the students in the school.

“Out of the 120 permanent teachers, only 14 teachers stay on campus, this is a worrying situation considering the student's population of over 2,600 with over 1,200 students in the boarding house “

He also highlighted the lack of infrastructural facilities like dormitories, inadequate toilet facilities, Assembly hall and teachers bungalow

Senior Boys Prefect of the school, Fred Joseph Sarpong who spoke exclusively to Kweku Bee Abrante called on telecommunications industries to fix phone boots in the school to prevent the students from illegally using mobile phones in their dormitories which distract them from learning.

He pleaded with authorities and cooperate entities to also construct for the school a basketball pitch, hockey and football equipment among others to create a serene environment for the school so it can look like a modern-day school.
