The Leader of UK’s Labour party Jeremy Corbyn has called off a fact finding trip to Ghana.

Corbyn was due to arrive in the country this week with a meeting scheduled with President Akufo-Addo.

However, reports in the British media this morning indicate that the trip has been called off after Corbyn scheduled a meeting with key Tory rebels and party leaders aimed at stopping the UK government’s proposed no-deal Brexit.

Corbyn according to the Mirror will use the platform to urge opposition parties to prevent a no-deal Brexit.

If he succeeds in winning the votes, Corbyn per the reports plans to delay Brexit and call for a snap election.

His visit would have been the Labour leader’s second meeting with the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo after April 2018, encounter in the UK.

Below is Corbyn’s letter to the opposition parties

Further to our correspondence last week, I would like to invite you to a meeting to discuss all tactics available to prevent No Deal.

The country is heading into a constitutional and political storm, so it is vital that we meet urgently, before Parliament returns.

The chaos and dislocation of Boris Johnson’s No Deal Brexit is real and threatening, as the government’s leaked Operation Yellowhammer dossier makes crystal clear. That’s why we must do everything we can to stop it.

I hope you are able to attend the meeting, which we will hold in my office on Tuesday 27th August at 12pm.

Please confirm your attendance by email.

Yours sincerely,

Jeremy Corbyn
