Brilliant Brains Academy inaugurates G-TEC computer education in Ghana

Brilliant Brains Academy has launched an academic programme aimed at providing students with affordable and quality education in computer and finance.

In line with this, the school has partnered with G-TEC, a world-renowned institution noted for its specialisation in equipping students and corporate bodies with requisite skills in computer education.

G-TEC computer education runs courses in areas such as financial accounting, database administration, hardware and networking, software engineering, web animation etc with certification from some major players in the world of IT such as Microsoft, SAP IBM and Tally EC- council

Marketing Manager of Brilliant Brain Academy, Prince Mensah disclosed that the partnership with G-TEC will ensure that students are trained to acquire relevant skills needed for the job market.

He insisted “our objective is to make Ghana the no.1 computer education in Africa matching the requirements in the industry and the future technology at large. Hoping to build Ghanaians and other Africans and also to help turn their hopes of becoming IT experts is a come true that is building the future of our students.”

The Indian High Commissioner, Birendar Singh, who was there to grace the inauguration lauded the initiative saying that such academic programmes are needed in developing countries to address problems of unemployment.

He cited the government’s flagship one district-one factory programme as an initiative that requires skilled people to manage the factories that will be setup and intimated that programmes as what G-TEC offers will hopefully produce such skilled people.

Accredited Institution

A representative from the Ghana Education Service, Samuel Ntow, expressed worry at the increasing trend of the establishment and operation of unapproved institutions.

He revealed that GES is battling with numerous instances of students who have had to cancel their education at some point because the institution is not accredited.

He cautioned the public to be on the lookout for such institutions and seek clarification from appropriate authorities when in doubt.

He assured that Brilliant Brain Academy was GES and Ministry of Education certified and emphasised that both academic programmes and facilities have been inspected and approved by them.

AMA partnership

Emmanuel Cottey who represented the Accra Metropolitan Assembly hinted of a possible collaboration between the Assembly and the institution.

He revealed that AMA plans to roll out initiatives that will help them achieve their target of making the city a ‘smart city’.

He said the Assembly is considering programmes that will bring together youth in the city with IT knowledge together to harness and develop their skills and potential in IT.

Ghana is the first country in Africa to run the G-TEC computer education course with plans to extend it to up to 50 centres in Africa. The course is currently being run in over 10 countries with over 510 centres located worldwide

As part of a CSR package, Brilliant Brain Academy and G-TEC intends to create and provide up to 1000 jobs by 2020.

This will be made possible through avenues created for employers to meet employees at job fairs and also liaising with organisations for opportunities for their students.
