Tamale, The Ministry of Health has started a project in Kumasi for the local production of learning materials for health institutions and libraries. The project sponsored by the British Overseas Development Administration (ODA) and the Danish international development agency (DANIDA), is part of efforts by the ministry to enhance the equity and quality of service delivery under its five-year medium term plan. Dr Delanyo Dovlo, Director of Human Resource Development of the Ministry who made this known in Tamale today, said the project would facilitate the development of a training information mechanism that will determine training priorities, enrichment of the core courses for training and systematic and qualitative approach to training. He was speaking during the commissioning of a human resource centre for the northern region which will also cater for in-service training of health staff in neighbouring Upper East and Upper West regions. The centre, the third after Greater Accra and Ashanti regions to be

funded by ODA, has a lecture room and facilities for workshop and seminars. There are plans to provide the centre with a library, recreational

facilities, residence and an overhead water for washroom.
