British High Commissioner H.E. Peter Jones set to host second GUBA Launch in Ghana.

After a remarkable launch at the British House of Commons in the UK, GUBA Awards has for the second time found its way to Ghana with the support of the British High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Peter Jones to launch the prestigious awards at his residence on 24 October 2013.


High profiled personalities and business moguls including the C.E.O of Vodafone Ghana, Harris Broudmidis, Kweku Bedu – Addo, C.E.O of Standard Chartered, Charles Darku, General Manager of Tullow Oil, Kwame Sefa Kayi and others will join his excellency and the GUBA team to announce the Nominees and Black star award recipients for the 2013 Ghana UK Based Achievement (GUBA) Awards once again and to further highlight their exceptional achievements.


GUBA Founder and C.E.O, Dentaa remarks; “We are very pleased with the continuous support of the British High Commissioner to Ghana. GUBA is just not an awards ceremony but a platform which aims to deepen the economic diplomacy and bilateral ties between Ghana and the UK. We encourage all stakeholders to support this laudable initiative”


With GUBA’s usual mix of select recognition and publicly voted awards, this year introduces new and exciting categories such as; RLG Development, Home strings Small Emerging Business, Invest In Africa Sustainable Business and also Young & Talented and Young Entrepreneur awards.


In its fourth year, the prestigious GUBA Awards Ceremony will take place at the lavish Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel on 16 November 2013. This year’s ceremony is sponsored by RLG, Armajaro, MoneyGram, Invest In Africa, Blavo and Co, Gamank Group, the British High Commission Accra, Homestrings, MYGAPPAEL and Arik air.


As part of the launch, Invest In Africa will host a dinner under the hospice of GUBA with leading CEO’s and business leaders to share Invest In Africa's projects amongst other investment opportunities. Performing on the night will be TV3’s talented kidz winner, Essi formerly Maame Esi.

GUBA 2013 Nominees List The GUBA categories are divided into sections that represent the Ghanaian flag, i.e. RED, GOLD, GREEN and the BLACK STAR; Red represents the blood of those who died in the country's struggle for independence Gold represents the mineral wealth of the country - Green symbolises the country's rich forests and natural wealth The black five-pointed star in the centre of the gold stripe stands for African freedom
