Victims of the tragic dynamite blast that occurred at Buduburam, Kasoa, have narrated the horrifying experience and how the incident has left them traumatised.

Four people have died as a result of the accident, while many others are still receiving treatment at St. Gregory Catholic Hospital at Gomoa Buduburam, near the accident site.

Speaking exclusively on ‘Say It Loud’ on GhanaWeb TV, three of the victims recounted how the blast occurred and the horrific moment when the rocks began wreaking havoc in the community.

One of the victims shared that she was returning from running an errand at the market when a rock struck her in the head.

She said she regained consciousness only to find herself in a hospital bed with a bandage wrapped around her head.

"I was coming back from the market when the incident happened. The rock hit my head, I fell down and instantly I was rushed to the emergency unit at the hospital. The doctor stitched my wounds and injected me.

“They gave us a police report to sign and the police also came here to check up on me and asked some questions,” she said.

Another victim stated that she was brought to the hospital due to heart pains, only to be diagnosed with high blood pressure from fleeing the chaos.

“I sell by the roadside so when the blast happened and the rocks started flying, people were running away from it. I also started running to avoid getting hit.

“I was brought to the hospital and the doctor said my blood pressure had increased so I was admitted,” she said.

The third victim said, “I was at my workplace when I saw the rocks flying. I went to hide inside my shop which had been destroyed. After hiding for some time, I came out to check if everything was okay but was hit in the back by two rocks. I shouted for help and that was the last thing I saw. When I woke up I was in hospital.”
