Builsa (U/E), Sept. 26, GNA - The Builsa District Health Insurance Scheme Manager, Mr James Maurice Abakisi, has lamented that whereas his outfit was doing everything to persuade the people to register for the Scheme, some unscrupulous individuals were also going round discouraging people from registering.

He said some deliberate misinformation was being sent to the people in the District to the effect that the premium being collected for the Scheme was going to be used by the New Patriotic Party to campaign for the 2008 elections.

Mr Abakisi, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Bolgatanga at the weekend, alleged that activists and supporters of one of the dominant opposition parties in the country were involved in such nefarious activities and cautioned such people to desist from the practice since that would not help them.

He cautioned the citizens to be wary of such people and stressed on the need for the people to register massively since this would help address their health needs.

The Scheme Manager indicated that his outfit was embarking upon a series of sensitisation workshops for hairdressers and beauticians all geared towards getting people to patronize the health insurance registration exercise.
