The people of Akatsi in the Akatsi South District of the Volta are yet to come to terms with the murder of a popular business woman in her shop last Friday.

Relatives, friends and many passersby were seen shedding uncontrollable tears, while others just stood in awe and wondered who might have killed the woman in such a manner.
Sources say Madam Abbah, who is believed to be in her 50s and popularly known as Mamator, was discovered last Friday morning in a pool of blood after her employees forcibly broke into her shop.
Apparently, Mamator had an inner apartment in the shop where she sometimes sleeps at night when she closes very late.
On Friday morning, her workers came to the shop in the morning as they normally do, but realized that the shop was still locked, something which was uncharacteristic of the deceased.

After several unsuccessful attempts, they forcibly broke into the shop.
To their surprise, they found their employer’s lifeless body in a pool of blood in the ransacked shop.
According to eye witnesses, Mamator might have struggled with someone or people.
The Akatsi South District Police Commander, Supt Bismarck Agyapong, who confirmed the incident to local press, said the Police have launched investigation into the case.
He passionately appealed to residents to volunteer information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of the atrocious crime.
