The leadership of the Ashanti Regional NDC has called for the questioning and punishment of SHS headmasters, who allegedly allowed the busing of students to the Kumasi Jubilee Park for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's Youth Connect program.

Describing the act as very unfortunate, the Ashanti regional NDC cited an example in the last elections where Joshua Akambah, the party's former organiser was lambasted for engaging students at the various SHS.

Addressing a press conference over some unfortunate incidents that occurred in the Ashanti region, during Dr. Bawumia's 3 days tour, Baah Acheamfour who is the Deputy Regional Secretary of the party said, headmasters who supervised the unlawful transfer of the students must be brought to book.

According to him, one major issue of concern was that most of these students were minors, which is against the law.

They also blamed the education minister for looking on for all these unfortunate acts to happen without uttering a word.

The NDC is however calling for the invitation and questioning of the education minister and those headmasters who allowed for the busing of innocent and minor students to the Jubilee Park.

"It is very shameful for someone like Dr. Yaw Adutwum who is Ghana's Education Minister and part of Dr. Bawumia's campaign tour, to look on for all these unfortunate acts."

According to the NDC, Dr. Bawumia and his campaign team, after realising a flop and disgrace in the Ashanti region tour, resorted to the busing of innocent students, adding that the Vice President should have answered some important questions posed by the regional communications officer, Abass Nurudeen (Esq) over the current state of the economy.

"It is very unfortunate that Dr. Bawumia is now running away from the economy due to his failure. He is now praising himself as the digital man, running from the economy which is very critical today.

"You all saw the booing of Dr Mahamudu at the Kumasi Adum which is a clear indication that he has been rejected in his own so-called stronghold region."

He said they resorted to the busing of SHS students after realising that they were going to be exposed by the numbers.

The Ashanti regional NDC is however demanding the invitation and questioning of the education minister and headmasters of the Senior High Schools which students were bussed to the Jubilee Park.
