The Ghana Centre for Democratic Development, CDD-Ghana has described the Odododiodio bye-election as peaceful, fair but not free from intimidation.
The centre says the excessive deployment of security personnel particularly armed personnel is a source of worry.
This was contained in a report released by the centre on Thursday.
A programme officer at the centre, Joseph Asomka told Joy News a lot more needs to be done by the NCCE in terms of educating the electorate to help entrench democracy in the country.
? Their appearance and how they were armed and how some were patrolling and were using sirens in some parts of the constituencies and the use of armoured cars.
In a way, even observers who were on the field at a point got scared on the streets and we could just anticipate that people who lived in the community who heard the sound of sirens and saw the armoured cars would definitely feel intimidated.
So we think that even though the elections were generally peaceful, free and fair, there is the feeling that there was some bit of intimidation on the part of security personnel,? he said.
