Bernard Allotey Jacobs, Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has admonished the people of the region to appreciate the good work the NDC government has done in the region, by voting massively for the party, come the 2016 general elections.

He stated that under the NDC Administration, the region had seen more infrastructural development more than any government citing the Cape Coast Stadium, the Kotokoraba Market, Komenda Sugar Factory, amongst others and must therefore be maintained in government to continue with its good works.

Mr. Jacobs was speaking at a ceremony held in Cape Coast, to inaugurate an eight-member regional disciplinary and a five-member conflict resolution committees of the party.

The disciplinary committee is chaired by Mr. Ebenezer Kojo Teye Addo, with Mrs. Gloria Koomson, as secretary, Mr. Musah Biney, Mr. Payin Arhin, Mr. Opoku Fofie, Mr. Mike Ananoo and Vicar-General Robert Dawson, as members

The conflict resolution committee included Dr.Joseph Nuetey, chairman, Mrs. Irene Allotey Jacobs, secretary with Mr. Panyin Arhin, Ms Aba Edusah and Mr. Ebenezer Kojo Teye Addo, as nembers

The committee members, drawn from the various institutions within the party, such as founding members, DCEs and former constituency chairmen of the party, would ensure that all party members abide by the rules and regulations of the party.

Mr. Jacobs acknowledged the fact that there were petty conflicts and clashes in about 18 constituencies of the region, but this he noted, would not draw the party back in winning all the 23 constituencies

This was because the committees had been mandated to resolve all the problems and instill discipline in the region, adding that “an organization without discipline is not an organization... we believe that there is no party member who is above the law and party constitution”.

He stated that the committees would leave no stones unturned in searching for all party members who had contributed to the party over the past years since their role was very crucial in their quest to win the 2016 elections.

Mr. Ebenezer Kojo Teye Addo, Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee noted that conflicts were bound to happen in any human institution, and as such measures must be put in place to deal with them amicably

He pledged to ensure that the party became conflict-free so that they could peacefully work to achieve their goal of winning the 2016 elections.

Dr. Joseph Nuetey, Chairman of the Conflict Resolution Committee, justified the need for the committees, and called on all national, regional and constituency executives of the party, to give them their support to make their work easy.
