More than 50 Pupils of Gomoa Buduburam D/A Basic government school in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region have been hospitalized after receiving a vaccination.
The pupils were sent to the St. Gregory Hospital unconscious after teachers in the schools reportedly gave them medicine from Ghana Health service.
Information gathered suggests the vaccines were given to the children forcefully.
In an interview with Kasapa FM News Yaw Boagyan, some of the parents of the victims expressed disappointment in Ghana Education Service as well as the teachers for not informing them prior to the medicine being administered to the children.
Some of the victims disclosed that they developed heart pains, stomach pains and started vomiting after they received the vaccination.
Meanwhile, the Acting Medical Superintendent Dr. Lassey of St Gregory Hospital has confirmed the situation but called for calm, adding that the situation is under control.
The Headteacher of Buduburam D/A government school declined to comment on the issue.
