CAC climaxes activities for Easter

Accra, March 25, GNA - The Christ Apostolic Church International on Monday climaxed its annual Easter Convention activities with special prayers for the nation, especially for a peaceful general election scheduled for next December.

The Rev. Enoch Osafo, Head Pastor of the Taifa Branch of the Church, led the congregation of the Accra West Area, during the closing ceremony to pray for national unity; growth; prosperity; development; peaceful co-existence among political parties and ethnic groups and the December elections.

Rev. Osafo asked Ghanaians especially Christians to bury their differences and not to be blinded by party affiliations to destroy the peace currently enjoyed by the nation.

The Reverend Minister said: "Ghana is for all of us; that is all we have and can claim. We therefore need to strive to ensure that it is protected at all times no matter where our affiliations and differences are and not to plunge it into any form of crisis." Rev. Osafo appealed to the staff of the Electoral Commission not to engage in activities that would raise eyebrows and appealed for special prayers for them at all times to ensure that they worked to the best of their abilities to ensure peaceful elections.

In a sermon, Apostle Emanuel O. Donkor, General Secretary of the Church, said the mystery of Christ's blessings was revealed in his crucifixion which had brought salvation to all mankind. Apostle Donkor said the crucifixion was also the "seal" of the salvation which could not be taken away once it was received and asked people all over the world and Ghanaians in particular to take advantage now and make the necessary moves to redeem themselves from the power of sin.

"This is the appointed time and we must not wait but act now to be able to enjoy the numerous benefits that come with the salvation," he told the congregation made up of thousands of worshipers from Accra West and its outskirts including Taifa, Dome, Abeka, North Kaneshie, Ofankor, Odorkor, Kwahieman, Sakaman, Mallam and Weija. He also asked members of the church to go out to win more souls into Christendom as was commanded by Jesus in the Great Commission.

"As Christ-appointed evangelists, you must work hard to win more souls and in doing that you will also enjoy more blessings," Apostle Donkor added.
