Tamale, Dec. 14, GNA - The Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) has for the past year supported some civil society organizations operating in the three Northern Regions as part of efforts to strengthen democracy and good governance in the country, particularly as the nation moves towards the 2012 general elections.
Additionally, CDD-Ghana in collaboration with the German Department for International Cooperation (GTZ) has provided technical support and small grants to some civil society organizations to empower the marginalized groups such as women and youths in local governance and peace building initiatives under the Civil Society Support Programme.
Mr. Paul Osei-Kuffour, Programme Manager of CDD-Ghana in Tamale's Field Office made this known to the Ghana News Agency in Tamale on Tuesday.
