CEANA convention in Texas

The Council of Ewe Association of Ghana (CEANA) is once again in the news. After a historical and emotional journey to Ho,Ghana marking the 14th Annual convention from July 27th through August 5th 2007, the powerful organization returns to Dallas, Texas for the 2008 convention. The Ewe Association of Dallas is delighted host this year's event. The convention is scheduled from August 28th to September 1st, 2008.

CONVENTION THEME: Tertiary Education in Eweland - Focusing on:

· Development of Technology

· Mobilization of Human Resources

· Support of Infrastructure projects

HOTEL INFORMATION: The Convention and lodging will be at the Marriott Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, 8440 Freeport Parkway, Irving, Texas 75061. Tel: (972) 929-8800 www.marriott.com/dfwap

HOTEL ROOM RATES: …. Standard…$83.00 for both single and double occupancy without breakfast.

(Breakfast will be provided by the Hotel restaurant at $15.00 per person).

RESERVATIONS – Details to be announced before the end of February.

RESERVATION DEADLINE: Reservations by attendees must be received on or before August 15, 2008 (the Cut-off Date), and must be accompanied by a first night room deposit or guaranteed with a major Credit Card. Please call early to reserve your rooms at this very low and affordable rate.

CONVENTION PACKAGE: There will be a flat Convention Fee of $120.00 per person for each convention attendee. (Children above 12 years and all adults). Children ages 5-12 who will be accompanying their parents to any of the catered events will be charged a flat fee of $ 40.00

CONVENTION PROGRAMS: The Convention program will begin on Thursday, August 28th and continue through Sunday August 31st 2008.

Thursday August 28……9: 00 AM – 6: 00 PM -- Arrival of Council of Representatives (COR) Delegates

Friday August 29……….9: 00 AM – 5: 00 PM – Meeting of CEANA Executive Secretariat and COR Delegates from all member Associations.

Friday August 29………6: 00 PM – 10: 00PM --- Social Hour & Entertainment for all guests at the hotel.

Saturday August 30……9: 00 AM – 5: 00 PM --- General Convention meeting open to all Convention attendees, guests and family members. (Lunch will be catered by the Hotel).

Saturday August 30……8: 00 PM – 2: 00 PM ---- Catered Dinner/Banquet Gala Night – Great Music & Dance at the Marriott Hotel Ball Room in an atmosphere of pomp and pageantry.

Sunday, August 31…….9: 30 AM – 11:30 AM --- Non-Denominational Church service at the Marriott Hotel. Local Pastors as well as visiting pastors will be in attendance. ---- Miva ne mia da akpe na Yesu Kristo

Activities will include games, music, cultural drumming & dancing, networking, food and drinks

Sunday August 31……8:30 PM until --- Time to unwind- Toli Time, Mise Gli loo, Elo dodo and African Folklore
