CEPS seize contraband wax prints in chapel

Aflao, Mar 26, GNA - Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) personnel from Aflao on Wednesday stormed the Lord Brotherhood Church cha= pel at Penyi in the Ketu North District and seized 11 bundles of wax prints believed to be contraband.

The bundles contained 792 pieces of imitation wax prints believed to=

have been smuggled from Togo.

No arrests have been made but the resident pastor of the church is being sought by CEPS for questioning. Mr Evans Klutse, the Assistant Commissioner in charge of Aflao, told=

newsmen that the CEPS team entered the chapel at about 0030 hours to find=

the goods in an obscure corner. There was nobody in the chapel at the tim= e. He said the items had been seized pending the outcome of investigati= ons and appealed to men of religion and leaders against conniving and condoni= ng the activities of criminals to avoid drawing themselves into conflict wit= h the law.
