CJA Mafia Attacks JJ

Fri, 18 Jun 2010 Source: Daily Post

Daily Post Monitoring Report

The unprincipled group, the Committee For Joint Action (CJA) is now an avenue for the de facto Prime Minister in the NDC government, Ato Ahwoi, and his side-kick, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, to launch blistering attacks on Former President JJ Rawlings. Having been exposed as greedy, selfish and hypocrites, the two have chosen to go underground and instead use some members of their CJA Mafia as well as fake historians as proxies to attack Mr. Rawlings and his wife.

Members of the CJA Mafia include Ato Ahwoi, Kwesi Pratt, Omane Boamah, Okudzeto Ablakwa and Kwasi Adu among others. The quack historian is one Colin Essamuah. Daily Postmonitoring reports say the only aim of the CJA Mafia is to smear and denigrate the Rawlingses in a desperate bid to maintain a strangled-hold on some vested interests they currently have in the Atta Mills administration.

In the Wednesday June 16, 2010 edition of the state-owned Daily Graphic, the CJA Mafia managed to plant an article authored by Colin Essamuah. The article, headed, “Rawlings should learn from the past,” suggested, among others things that Rawlings will be assassinated if he does not stop criticising President Mills.

Colin Essamuah, in this regard, recommended some books which talk about assassination of some political leaders for the perusal of the Former President so he would advise himself.

The quack historian, who belongs to the mate me hu tradition of the UP/PP/PFP/NPP and notoriously known for crossing carpets, complained bitterly that the wife of the former President should not have declared her intention to contest President Mills for the 2012 flagbearership of the NDC. Here is where he displayed an amazing ignorance and outright illiteracy contrary to the facts available. Daily Postcan report authoritatively that Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings has NOT stated anywhere that she will contest the 2012 elections. According to the records, a small group of people at the June 4 parade in Tamale this year displayed a banner which urged the Former First Lady to go for the Presidency in 2012.

Clouded by sheer hatred for the Rawlingses, this man’s interview on Ato Ahwoi’s radio station, Radio Gold, exposed him as a fake historian because he presented speculations and opinions as facts. Perharps, Mr. Essamuah would have to read the works of celebrated historians such as Basil Davidson, J.D. Fage, Ali Mazuri, Adu Boahene, F.K.Buah and Adjayie to see how impossible it is for him to be remotely referred to as a historian.

He postulates that Ato Ahwoi and others whom Rawlings is castigating now are the same people who worked for him. Thus, in this quack historian’s warped logic, they could not have been ‘angels’ at one time and ‘devils’ at another. This fake historian lazily forgot that human beings change over time due to so many factors. The Ato Ahwoi who once worked in the Rawlings government is not the same person now. Today, he deems himself the de facto Prime Minister of the Mills Administration, the King-maker and the monarch of all that he can survey to the extent that he would even lie about Rawlings on his Radio station.

Then comes Kwasi Adu, a former PNDC operative now convener of the CJA. Once a fine gentleman, he has allowed himself to be used by Kwesi Pratt as a proxy in his battle against Rawlings. Strangely, he knows he is being used but cannot avoid it for obvious reasons. Mr. Adu posted an article on ghanaweb.com titled “On Greedy Bastards, Stupid Fools, Empty Heads,…” where he tries to portray Mr. Rawlings as someone who turned on the very people who helped him to come to power and helped his government to succeed. This unfortunate man should tell Ghanaians who turns against his former colleagues than Kwesi Pratt Jnr. Kweku Baako and Alhaji Bature are living examples of Kwesi Pratt’s hypocrisy and treachery. If Mr. Rawlings is such a person that Mr. Adu wants Ghanaians to believe, why did the likes of Kwesi Pratt go begging him to join CJA demonstrations they organized? Why did the likes of Ato Ahwoi continue working for and with him after 1992? Daily Postexpects Mr. Adu to be grateful to Rawlings for granting him the chance to serve as a PNDC operative.

According to the records, Mr. Adu served so diligently that he was able to raise money to buy a house in Tema. A little fracas occurred which forced him to leave for the UK. As a member of the CJA, Mr. Adu has to be very careful of Mr. Pratt because the Insight Managing Editor exploits people’s genuine concerns for his selfish gains. Perhaps Kwasi Adu will be shocked to know that Kwesi Pratt used all his shrewd plans to block him from being appointed by President Mills as a deputy minister. Kwasi Adu was therefore pushed as a board member of GRIDCo and we expect him to work assiduously for the rampant power outages to stop; rather than writing articles to please the Ahwois and demand a pound of flesh from the past. Daily Postis reliably informed that Ato Ahwoi’s Radio Gold will not review this piece. We know that morning show producer, Roland Acquah-Stevens and Emefa Appau, the newspaper review hostess would be under pressure not to review this news article. The owners of the radio station may as well order their workers never to review this paper. We care less!

The current news analysis programme on Radio Gold, Alhaji & Alhaji, has become an arena for bashing the Rawlingses. Tomorrow’s edition of the programme is expected to go the usual luck-lustre, monotonous agenda of vilifying Former President Rawlings. The editorial team of Daily Post has served notice that it will not tolerate any such unjustified attacks and will go all out to expose those charlatans, hypocrites and bootlickers bent on destroying the Rawlings. Anybody on Alhaji & Alhaji and other platforms who would want to attack must attack on facts and must themselves operate with principles. In fact they need to “check themselves” before coming into the public domain. He who calls for equity must come with clean hands. Progressive forces who called into the newsroom of Daily Post since the Rawlingses came under attack have also expressed readiness to partner the editorial board to return fire for fire. Stay tuned
