CLE Multimedia apologises to 3 regional ministers over false galamsey claims

CLE Multimedia Limited has apologised to three regional ministers after a guest on one of its programmes alleged that they were involved in illegal mining activities.

In a statement dated November 20, 2025, the media organisation expressed regret over the comments made during an interview aired on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

It clarified that the remarks were made by a guest, who alleged that Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister; Rita Akosua Awatey, the Eastern Regional Minister; and Joseph Nelson, the Western Regional Minister were reportedly involved in illegal mining activities.

"CLE Multimedia Limited wishes to formally retract and apologise for comments made on our station during an interview aired on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The comments were made by a guest, Wendell Yeboah, who alleged that the above-mentioned ministers were involved in illegal mining activities," the statement noted.

The media organisation further reaffirmed its commitment to responsible journalism.

"We remain committed to responsible journalism and will continue to uphold the highest standards of media ethics," it added.
